मेष राशि (Mesha Rashi | Aries Sign) राशि पर मंगल का आधिपत्य है। प्रकृति से यह राशि उष्ण और अग्नितत्वीय है। यह चर और धनात्मक राशि है। मानव शरीर पर इसका सिर और चेहरे पर आधिपत्य होता है। जब मैं मेष लग्न या मेष राशि से प्रभावित जातक को देखता हूं तो वह मुझे मझले कद का गठे हुए शरीर का दिखाई देता है।
लड़ाकू लोगों की तरह मेष राशि के लोगों का जबड़ा कुछ चौड़ा होता है। ये लोग एक जगह टिककर नहीं बैठते। मेष राशि का एक बालक अगर आपके घर में आता है तो वह पहले कमरे में घूमकर देखेगा। इधर-उधर सामान छेड़ेगा। तब तक उसके अभिभावक उसे रोकने का निष्फल प्रयत्न करते रहेंगे। आप भी परेशान रहेंगे। आखिर निरीक्षण पूरा होने के बाद वह अपनी सीट पर आकर बैठेगा। तब भी उसकी टांगे हिलती रहेंगी। मेष राशि से प्रभावित जातकों की रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता अपेक्षाकृत अधिक होती है।
मेष राशि की दिशा पूर्व है, उत्पाद बम, आतिशबाजी का सामान, तीखे और नुकीले साधन हैं, जब लिखते हैं तो तीखी लिखावट होती है।
राशि चक्र की यह पहली राशि है, इस राशि का चिन्ह ”मेढा’ या भेडा है, इस राशि का विस्तार चक्र राशि चक्र के प्रथम 30 अंश तक (कुल 30 अंश) है। राशि चक्र का यह प्रथम बिन्दु प्रतिवर्ष लगभग 50 सेकेण्ड की गति से पीछे खिसकता जाता है। इस बिन्दु की इस वक्र गति ने ज्योतिषीय गणना में दो प्रकार की पद्धतियों को जन्म दिया है। भारतीय ज्योतिषी इस बिन्दु को स्थिर मानकर अपनी गणना करते हैं। इसे निरयण पद्धति कहा जाता है। और पश्चिम के ज्योतिषी इसमे अयनांश जोडकर ’सायन’ पद्धति अपनाते हैं। मेष राशि पूर्व दिशा की द्योतक है, तथा इसका स्वामी ’मंगल’ है। इसके तीन द्रेष्काणों (दस दस अंशों के तीन सम भागों) के स्वामी क्रमश: मंगल-मंगल, मंगल-सूर्य, और मंगल-गुरु हैं।
मेष राशि में नक्षत्रों का वर्णन
मेष राशि के अन्तर्गत अश्विनी नक्षत्र के चारों चरण और कॄत्तिका का प्रथम चरण आते हैं। प्रत्येक चरण 3.20′ अंश का है, जो नवांश के एक पद के बराबर का है। इन चरणों के स्वामी क्रमश: अश्विनी प्रथम चरण में केतु-मंगल, द्वितीय चरण में केतु-शुक्र, तॄतीय चरण में केतु-बुध, चतुर्थ चरण में केतु-चन्द्रमा, भरणी प्रथम चरण में शुक्र-सूर्य, द्वितीय चरण में शुक्र-बुध, तॄतीय चरण में शुक्र-शुक्र, और भरणी चतुर्थ चरण में शुक्र-मंगल, कॄत्तिका के प्रथम चरण में सूर्य-गुरु हैं।
- अश्विनी नक्षत्र के प्रथम चरण के अधिपति केतु-मंगल जातक को अधिक उग्र और निरंकुश बना देता है। वह किसी की जरा सी भी विपरीत बात में या कार्य में जातक को क्रोधात्मक स्वभाव देता है। जातक बात-बात मे झगडा करने को उतारू हो जाता है। जातक को किसी की आधीनता पसंद नहीं होती है। वह अपने अनुसार ही कार्य और बात करना पसंद करता है।
